Soprano Zoe Chunghui Kim has been celebrated as an artist with a colorful voice and ample expressivity, being selected as the First Prize winner of the 2021 Forte International Competition and the 2021 MAP International Music Competition, and the Distinction Award in the 2018 Metropolitan International Vocal Competition. 

 

Having graced the iconic Carnegie Hall three times and enchanted audiences at renowned venues globally, her recent highlight of career includes Gretel from Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel at the Musikverein in Vienna, accompanied by the Wiener Festspiele Orchestra. In addition to her successful debut in Vienna, she performed the role of Diana (Orphée aux enfers) in Berlin last summer. 

 

In 2021, she earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Opera Performance at UT Austin where she received the Butler Opera Center Scholarship throughout her studies. She performed various leading roles with BOC such as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Governess (The Turn of the Screw), and Fidelia (Edgar). She holds her Master’s degree at Manhattan School of Music and also attended various training programs. The roles that she sang include Fiordiligi (Così fan Tutte), Mimi, Musetta (La Bohème), Marguerite (Faust) and Countess (Le nozze di Figaro). 

 

Currently, she is nurturing the next generation as an Assistant Professor / Interim Director of Voice Studies at Texas Lutheran University, alongside her vibrant performance activities.
